A biodiversity intelligence ecosystem supporting collaborative environmental insight

Account & Data Deletion

This page explains account freezing, data management and account deletion options for kladOS, LitterMapper, MacrophyteMapper, WBSMapper, NatRec and other mybiOSis applications.

Important: mybiOSis applications use a shared account system.

Your account may be connected to several applications and to kladOS, the mybiOSis web environment used for managing observations, images, survey records and project data.

Deleting your full mybiOSis account may permanently remove access to data collected over long periods of time.

Freeze account

Freezing your account hides your profile and content from other users without deleting your data.

This is recommended if you only want to temporarily stop using the system.

🗂

Manage app data

Most application data can be managed directly in kladOS through the corresponding web applications.

Users can normally edit, export or delete their own records using the available tools.

🗑

Delete account

You may request deletion of your full mybiOSis account and associated personal data.

This affects all applications using the same mybiOSis account.

kladOS and mybiOSis web applications

Some users of mobile applications may not be familiar with kladOS. kladOS is the web environment of the mybiOSis ecosystem and provides management tools for data collected through several mobile and web applications.

LitterMapper, MacrophyteMapper and WaterBodyStructureMapper are part of the mybiOSis ecosystem and have corresponding web applications in kladOS that allow users to manage related records. The Android applications are distributed through Google Play by BIODIV.SYSTEMS.

NatRec is a mobile application for biodiversity and habitat data connected directly to kladOS, where users can normally add, edit and delete their own records. The Android application is distributed through Google Play by BIODIV.SYSTEMS.

How to freeze your account

If you do not want to permanently delete your account or data, you can freeze your account in kladOS.

Freezing is reversible and does not permanently delete your data.

Managing and exporting your data

Where available, data management and export functions are provided inside the corresponding kladOS web applications.

Depending on the application, users may be able to export observations, records, images or other project-related content directly using the tools available in kladOS.

We recommend reviewing available management and export options before requesting permanent account deletion.

Requesting data or account deletion

If you cannot delete specific data yourself through kladOS, or if you want to request deletion of your full mybiOSis account, please contact us.

Please use one of the following email subjects:

Please include the username or email address used in the application and clearly specify:

Please include the username or email address used in the application and clearly specify which application or data should be removed.

Manual review and confirmation

Deletion requests are reviewed manually to prevent accidental loss of important scientific, project or long-term observation data.

We may contact you to confirm your identity and the exact scope of the deletion before removing data.

Full account deletion may affect access to data and services across the entire mybiOSis ecosystem.
